Food choices are another challenge for those who struggle with managing their weight. I personally, would love to live on Pizza, popcorn, ice cream and soda but I know that’s not realistic. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy those things every once in a while but you should really concentrate on including an even balance of lean meats, vegetables, fruits and healthy carbs. Now I’m all for treating yourself to something you really enjoy every once in a while but just do it in moderation.
Meal frequency is a struggle for most people and especially those who have erratic schedules. However, you should really try to develop a system of eating at certain times of the day. This is especially important for your three main meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner. A light snack in between your meals will also help you to not over eat during one of your main meals. I would suggest eating 5-6 times per day with your snacks consisting of things such as cheese sticks, granola bars or a pudding cup. Just remember to keep it light in between to avoid becoming heavy in the middle.
It all comes down to common sense but more importantly…it all hinges on your ability to discipline yourself to change your eating habits for the better. Weight management is not hard if you put your mind to it. Start today on the road to becoming a healthier, happier you.
